Tally Ho,
London

A new mixed development in London, this high rise building incorporated residential, office and retail units as well as a theatre complex. Doors supplied were a mixture of paint grade or oak veneered with both acoustic and fire performance critical to the overall project, all doorsets were supplied with matching frames and architrave. We manufactured the majority of sets to non standard sizes to suit site conditions, and worked closely with the main contractor to coordinate sizes.

The specification / appearance of the development was of quite a modern look to which we proposed specialist detailing to the vision panel bead, having been accepted this proved to be a very popular decision.

Owing to the nature of the site and locality, the theatre is integral to the building and required careful acoustic sealing to minimise disruption to other areas. To achieve this, we supplied acoustic doorsets to achieve varying acoustic ratings dependent on location, ratings specified ranged from 29dB right through to 44dB for the more exposed areas. Standard seal arrangements including perimeter batwing seals to the frame legs and concealed drop down seals to the Threshold of the door were used providing adequate protection. Due to building regulations the vast proportion of acoustic doorsets also had to be combined with fire protection ranging from half hour FD30, right through to two hour FD120.
